Jennifer Wakefield, a CDT student working on  alternative conservation methods for preservation of wooden artefacts from a Viking ship burial, has recently had the opportunity to help explain the problems with the artefacts and research being done as part of the Saving Oseberg project at the ‘Tourist in own city’ event, which took place in  Oslo, Norway in April 2018. The event took place during Jennifer’s placement at the Viking Ship Museum in Oslo and aimed to encourage the local population to engage with historic and cultural heritage of their city.
