Mineralization in Construction Materials and Products at the National Laboratory for Civil Engineering (LNEC) in Lisbon, Portugal. The conference covered a wide range of topics such as CO2 mineralisation technologies, recycled concrete and microstructure properties of CO2 mineralised products alongside lots more interesting research!
Sophie had the opportunity to present her research “The Development of Designer Superplasticizers via the Utilisation of CO2” which explores novel synthetic procedures for the sustainable synthesis of a class of water reducing cement admixtures. After presenting her work, Sophie had the opportunity to engage in discussions with a wide variety of academics and industrial specialists from various different backgrounds such as civil engineering, geology, materials science and chemistry.
Thanks to the organising committee for putting together a fantastic conference!
