CDT students, Adeifeoluwa Jolaosho and William Balkwill-Western, from Cohort 10, alongside the rest of the battery research wing of the NAMI group, including CDT alumnus Ganesh Vailaya, from Cohort 7, attended the Faraday Institute conference 2025. The conference showcased multiple speakers from across the field of battery research, including the Nobel Prize Winner Stanley Whittingham, and the leaders of industry, including Gelion, showing how far the field has come since the creation of the lithium-ion battery in 1991.
The conference also had a selection of around 200 posters, each discussing advancements in the diverse battery ecosystem, from new materials for batteries to identifying the fundamental mechanisms of battery function.
Two of the posters were presented by Will and Adeife on the progress they have made in the advancement of magnesium battery research.
